My Story: From Birthday Promise to Body Reinvention. It all began on my 40th birthday.
Meet Karina, the visionary behind WaistedMom. After facing challenges like C-sections, hereditary kidney disease, and weight gain, she transformed her journey into a mission to empower women. On her 40th birthday, Karina committed to fitness by joining Beachbody, now Bodi, and sharing her progress publicly to stay accountable. Six weeks in, she noticed muscle development and felt hopeful. Anticipating her usual urge to quit, she sought solutions to maintain momentum. Recalling the support of a body shaper post-C-sections, she researched and discovered that plastic surgeons recommend compression garments after surgery.
However, her initial experience with a tight shaper was painful, leading her to modify it for comfort. This inspired the creation of WaistedMom—a brand offering supportive, non-restrictive shapers designed as empowerment tools. During the COVID-19 pandemic, with gyms closed and feeling isolated, Karina began live-streaming workouts on Facebook. Women asked to join her sessions within two weeks, sparking a growing community. She expanded her offerings by coaching and authoring "Eat Your Way to Fit." WaistedMom has since evolved into a movement for women ready to reclaim their strength and confidence. Karina's philosophy centers on granting permission to be strong, soft, feminine, and unapologetically in control of one's body and life.
